All Simply Shutters products are made from totally recyclable materials. None of our waste material goes to landfill sites but instead goes for recycling to be made into many useful everyday items such as garden furniture, plastic buckets, car bumpers, CD cases and so on.
Polymers and most plastics are, in essence, oil derived so we endeavour to ensure that whenever possible, we deal only with those suppliers that have a policy of reducing harmful emissions and that take steps to promote an environmentally friendly practice in general. In this respect we believe that we have been successful.
For example our main supplier has almost zero harmful emissions in the manufacture of the components that we use to build the shutters.
Any monies that we receive for our recyclable waste is donated to charities (see our blog entry for sponsorship in the Great North
Run). We use the Rye Trading Company Ltd www.clryetradingltd.co.uk to dispose of all of our recyclable waste.
As a result of this policy you can be sure that when you buy any Simply Shutters synthetic wood or co-polymer product that it will benefit the environment in some way; the most obvious of which is to reduce the impact upon our planet from deforestation by reducing the demand for hardwoods.
All Ramin Hardwood shutters (that are available to purchase online) are obtained from regulated sources and therefore proven and guaranteed to be from managed and renewable supplies and not from illegal logging.
It is Simply Shutters policy to support other small businesses in the immediate area so that our activities will benefit the local community.
