Job Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: Mon – Thurs from 9am until 4pm with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break.  

Salary: £11.50 per hour

Location: Brandon, Suffolk.


  • Answering all incoming calls promptly and dealing with all calls in a professional, friendly and polite manner.
  • Taking new orders and dealing with any existing orders.
  • Processing sales orders, sales invoices, and other paperwork.
  • Liaising with customers regarding any delivery issues, stock availability or updates on orders.
  • Monitoring the shared inbox frequently ensuring that we respond to all emails within 24 hours.
  • Liaising with other departments including warehouse and manufacturing personnel.
  • Dealing with any carrier related issues.
  • Following up sales enquiries.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with trade customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure that we maintain company confidentiality when dealing with third party customers or suppliers.
  • Booking parcels with our third party courier service ready for collection from our premises.
  • Performing general administrative duties.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Essential to the job:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Sales experience advantageous but we are willing to train someone who has the right attitude and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Ability to work well under pressure. During our busier months it is a fast-paced & pressured environment.
  • Ability to liaise with customers in a friendly and professional manner, this will include dealing with any customer complaints that might arise.
  • Possess good oral and written grammar and the ability to write clear and professional emails.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Experience of using Microsoft systems including Outlook, Word, and to a lesser degree Excel.
  • CRM experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to work under own initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Flexibility. From time to time we will need you to be able to work full time hours to cover holiday and sickness. If you are covering sickness this means you will need to be available at short notice. This is a really important aspect of the role.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be computer literate, have a keen eye for detail and proven customer service and administration experience. If you have sales experience that is also a bonus. Please note however there is no cold calling with this role, all sales leads are from people who have approached us. If you are highly organised, and have a professional and friendly telephone manner we’d love to hear from you.
